Twestival stands for Twitter + Festival. It is an international fund-raising event initiated by Twitter users in hundreds of cities around the world, coming together for an important cause/ nonprofit, by hosting local events to create awareness and raise funds for the nonprofit. Following the success of the first global Twestival (www.twestival.com) on 12th February 2009, in which 202 cities participated and over $250 million raised for the Charity:Water, and Twestival Local in September of last year, Twestival Global returned this year in March in aid of education.

Twestival happened on the 25th of March, 2010 across seven cities in India including Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Goa, Kolkata and Mumbai. There were events hosted in these particular cities where over 500 people participated and rallied for education for underprivileged children.

TWB associated with Twestival in India. It was a great opportunity for us as a brand to participate in a social initiative and reach out to young tech- savvy crowd, while at the same time it was for a cause, which was embraced by social media and a new age festival like Twestival. The event was held at Opus, Bangalore.

Some of the ways how TWB associated with Twestival are:

• Sponsored 30 prizes in the form of Scholarship Vouchers worth Rs. 10,000/- each on TWB certification programs
• Sponsored 5 TWB laptop bags, which was given away during a Quiz event.

TWB exposed at Twestival:

• TWB was one of the main sponsorers for the twestival along with Yahoo, Kingfisher Blue, Myntra and others.
• TWB was mentioned in all forms of communication beginning with the promotions of twestival, entry coupons, twestival banners, screen display at the venue and their tweets.
