Communication 360 Concept Note

Communication 360
The Annual National level Inter–college competition “Communication 360” was organized by TWB in the month of August, 2009. The competition was woven around the theme of launching an Apple iPod-touch. A team comprising of two members had to prepare a Poster, Brochure and an User Guide on the given theme. We received an overwhelming response with 98 teams from all over India participating in this event. The top ten teams were chosen by a panel of eminent judges who had to present their findings on the given topic. Goodies such as iPods, Puma apparel etc was given away to the winners along with trophies and certificates.

About the Event
Communication 360 ’09 is the first edition of an annual Inter-college competition event brought out by TWB to bring about an awareness about communication as a category in high technology areas.
This first edition saw the participation of 98 teams from 38 graduate schools which includes Engineering, Arts & Sciences and Management.

Program Structure
All participating teams were required to put together and submit three communication artifacts about a common product – an Apple iPod Touch. These were a Poster, a Brochure and a User Guide for the product, highlighting different phases where technical communicators participate. The iPod was chosen for its universal appeal and availability.
Phase 1 of the event – Was the evaluation of all the entries by a professional team put together by TWB. This team has shortlisted a team of 10 entries based on originality of content, design and overall communication.
Phase 2 of the event – Each of the shortlisted team entry will be given to jury to evaluate.
The participants are required to present the entries to the jury at Bangalore which will evaluate them on the basis of a cross examination.
The jury members not in Bangalore may evaluate the entries and send us the scores in a specified format.
The overall scores will be combined to decide the 3 best teams.

The Award Ceremony
The presentation to the jury, the decision and the distribution of awards will be held at a grand ceremony at The Chancery at Bangalore, on the 25th of November, 2009 between 2:00pm–6:00pm.
