TERMS AND CONDITIONS EVENT OVERVIEW Communication360 '09 is an event mainly for youngsters, giving them a fun opportunity to bring out hidden creative talents in them. Communication 360 is an inter-college event which brings together the best talent from different colleges with respect to Communication-Creativity-Confidence of an individual. Team size: 2 participants in each team. Last Date for Registration: Aug 21st, 2009 Last Date for Receiving Entries: Aug 31st, 2009 Event Format: An Evaluation of all the entries by all teams will be made by an eminent jury in a ceremony at a five star hotel/convention center on the Final day. THE CONTEST • Each team needs to prepare & submit: 1. 1 poster (A3 size) on how is the product, the right product for the audience to purchase. 2. 1 brochure (4 pages, A4 size each) with details on what are the best features and how is the product better than its competitors. 3. 1 document (A4 size) on how to use the product. The document should include at least 4-6 screenshots and include at least 1500 words or more. The document should include the basic use of the product and can include more complex features. • Teams can use their imagination for artwork design, content and structure of information of the document(s). ELIGIBILITY • Competition is open to students of all Degree and Engineering colleges. • Each team has 2 participants. • Multiple teams can participate from a college. • The participants of this competition must be above the age of 18 and should necessarily be students in a college affiliated to a University recognized by UGC. • This Event is open to students regardless of gender. The teams will have no choice of omitting an entry and will have to necessarily prepare all the 3 entries in order to be evaluated. The competition is solely based on the individual’s communication skills, creativity and confidence which carries originality and good English and Grammar. REGISTRATION • Registration is Free. • Students are required to register online on the TWB website to be able to participate in the Event. • Participants who do not register both online or via e-mail by this time will not be allowed to compete. • All participants will need to have two members in a team. • Event registration is open only until 21st Aug,09. COMPETITION RULES • The teams will be required to prepare the necessary entries and submit the same on 31st Aug ,09. • Entries sent after the mentioned date will NOT be accepted. However, changes are likely to be made in case of emergencies or unavoidable holidays. • The submission of entries by all the teams will be accepted either by a soft copy mailed to contest@twb.edu.in or the hardcopy posted to or personally handed over to the TWB address: TWB Institute of Professional and Technical Communication #421, Carlton Tower 'B', 4th Floor, 1 Airport Road, Bangalore-560008. • Submission of all entries should be done only in the following format and will be rejected if they do not comply: o If in hardcopy: ? The Poster (1) should be an A3-size sheet/cardboard ? The Brochure (1) should be a minimum of four A4-size sheets/pages. ? The Document (1) on how to use an iPod Touch. o If in softcopy: ? The Poster should be in PDF format with resolution to print in A3. ? The Brochure should be in PDF format for resolution to print in A4. ? The Document should be in Microsoft Word 2003 format (.doc) NB: If any files are found to have viruses or any other malicious software they will be deleted immediately. TWB has no responsibility to notify the participating team about such non-submission. EVENT PROCEDURE • The Registered contestants will have to prepare the required entries and submit them before or on the specified date. • Submission is accepted at contest@twb.edu.in or through post to the TWB address. • A final list of 10 teams will be selected by an eminent jury from all submitted entries. • Finalists will be asked to present their entry to the jury in a ceremony at a 5 star hotel/convention center. • The jury will select the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed teams. Winning teams will be awarded at the venue. • All finalists will receive a Certificate of Participation. COMPETITOR AND SPECTATOR CONDUCT • Competitors will conduct themselves in a reasonable manner, maintaining a friendly and polite demeanor to spectators, competitors, event officials, and to other participants of the event on the final day. • Competitors must be available for post-event awards, ceremonies, photographs, interviews, or other events. • On the final day, each of the participants of all the teams is permitted to accompany them, any two members. It is understood and acceptable to TWB that general cheering and levels of excitement from a companion can be a source of motivation for the competitor. • Competitors will refrain from the use of vulgar language during the entire competition. Teasing competitors during the event is prohibited. Competitors are expected to compete in a professional manner. Halting the competition without cause, or showing a flagrant lack of effort will be construed as a violation of student conduct and will result in event forfeit and disqualification from the competition. • Allowed Spectators (if any) are encouraged to remain quiet while at the sidelines of the spectator area, and be mindful of the privilege of being present at the competition in such a close proximity. • Use of alcohol or illegal drugs is prohibited during the event. The students may not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol while competing. • Smoking is prohibited on the premises. • Please take into consideration that other teams too would be taking part in the event and it would be unsportsmanlike to be disturbing the other teams during the competition. CHEATING AND VIOLATION OF RULES • By registering and participating in the Event, each participant agrees to be bound by the official rules of this document. Breaking any rule listed herein is grounds for event disqualification at the discretion of TWB. • Once a warning has been issued, the next violation will result in disqualification of the entire team. • The Event Director reserves the right to cancel or modify the competition rules if fraud,or any other factor beyond reasonable control, impairs the integrity of the competition. • Any protests or disagreements with event rulings must be made directly to the Event Director in a reasonable manner at the time of the incident, at which time a prompt decision will be made. Disputes must be filed before leaving the event area. The Directors decisions are final. • Any form of cheating, including but not limited to intentional disconnects, etc., will result in immediate disqualification of the competitor and or team. • An Event Official has the right to disqualify and dismiss any registered player from the competition at their discretion, at any stage of the event, for any reason, with no prior warning to the player. DISCRETION, LIABILITY AND AGREEMENT • TWB is not liable for any property that is lost, stolen or damaged and/or for any injury, accidental or intentional, to any participant of the event TWB is not liable for. • This document and all rules are subject to change at TWBs sole discretion. All disputes, conflicts and issues between teams or between teams and event rule interpretations will be solely at the discretion of TWB. • The participating teams will be responsible for the copyrights of all the artwork, content and overall design of the submissions. TWB will have no responsibility for any copyright infringement by any party.
